Hopper with agitator and auger, installed on site:
An agitator is used for irregular biomass fuel types, especially wood chips. The agitator is placed in the bottom of a fuel bunker or hopper. It has a spring-loaded core with blades that rotate, which prevents the wood chips from clumping together and causing a disruption in the fuel supply.
The agitator pushes the wood chips into a slot, where an auger (a type of screw) turns and feeds the wood chips into the biomass burner.
