A biomass fuel handling system performs three functions: the storage of the fuel on site, the feeding of the fuel into the burner, and ash extraction after the combustion process. CSE offers a range of automated fuel handling systems that are compatible with our burners. Based on the site setup, desired fuel storage capacity, burner rating and fuel type, we can provide an optimised solution.

WHAT IS AN AGITATOR AND AN AUGER?

An agitator is used for irregular biomass fuel types, especially wood chips. The agitator is placed in the bottom of a fuel bunker or hopper. It has a spring-loaded core with blades that rotate, which prevents the wood chips from clumping together and causing a disruption in the fuel supply.
The agitator pushes the wood chips into a slot, where an auger (a type of screw) turns and feeds the wood chips into the biomass burner.
